Overview

Nemu is designed with privacy as a core feature, not an afterthought. Your anime tracking data stays on your device. We do not collect, store, or transmit your personal information to any server.

Data we don't collect

• No analytics or usage tracking
• No advertising identifiers
• No personal information (name, email, or location)
• No device fingerprinting
• No crash reporting that includes personal data

Data stored on your device

Nemu stores the following data locally on your device:

• Your anime shelf (titles, statuses, ratings, episode progress)
• Cached anime metadata from AniList (titles, cover images, descriptions)
• App preferences and notification settings
• Achievement progress
• Search history

This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to sync with AniList (a Nemu Pro feature).

AniList integration

Nemu uses the AniList GraphQL API to search for anime and fetch metadata. These are read-only requests that don't require authentication and don't transmit any of your personal data.

If you choose to connect your AniList account (Pro feature), Nemu uses OAuth 2.0 to authenticate. Your AniList access token is stored locally on your device. Nemu can read and write to your AniList anime list with your permission. You can disconnect at any time from the app settings.

In-app purchases

Nemu Pro is a one-time in-app purchase processed entirely through Apple's App Store. We use RevenueCat to manage purchase entitlements. RevenueCat receives a pseudonymous app user ID — no personal information is shared. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.

Notifications

Nemu can send local notifications for upcoming episode releases. These are scheduled entirely on your device using airing schedule data from AniList. No push notification server is involved. You control which shows trigger notifications and can disable all notifications from app settings.

Third-party services

• AniList API — anime metadata and search (read-only, no personal data sent)
• RevenueCat — in-app purchase management (pseudonymous ID only)
• Apple App Store — purchase processing

Children's privacy

Nemu is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

1. Acceptance

By downloading or using Nemu, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not download or use the app.

2. License

Anchorpoint Software LLC grants you a personal, non-commercial, non-transferable license to use Nemu on Apple devices you own or control, subject to these Terms and Apple's App Store terms. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sublicense, or reverse engineer the app.

3. In-App Purchases

Nemu is free to download. Nemu Pro ($3.99 USD) is available as a one-time in-app purchase. All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store — Apple's purchase terms and refund policy govern all transactions. We do not process payments directly and cannot issue refunds outside of Apple's policies. We use RevenueCat solely to verify purchase entitlements.

4. Third-Party Services — AniList

Nemu retrieves anime metadata (titles, cover art, episode counts, descriptions) from AniList (anilist.co) via their public GraphQL API. This data is provided by a third party and may be incomplete, inaccurate, or temporarily unavailable. Nemu is not affiliated with AniList. Your use of content sourced from AniList is subject to AniList's Terms of Service.

If you connect your AniList account (a Nemu Pro feature), you authorize Nemu to read and write your AniList anime list on your behalf via OAuth. You can revoke this access at any time from the app settings. Anchorpoint Software LLC is not responsible for changes to your AniList account made through the sync.

5. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to:

• Use Nemu to scrape, bulk-download, or redistribute AniList data
• Circumvent or attempt to circumvent purchase verification
• Use the app for any purpose that violates applicable law
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

NEMU IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT THIRD-PARTY DATA (INCLUDING ANILIST) WILL BE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR AVAILABLE.

7. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, ANCHORPOINT SOFTWARE LLC'S TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF NEMU SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

IN NO EVENT SHALL ANCHORPOINT SOFTWARE LLC BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

8. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of the State of Florida.
