Privacy Policy

Overview

Nemu is designed with privacy as a core feature, not an afterthought. Your anime tracking data stays on your device. We do not collect, store, or transmit your personal information to any server.

Data we don't collect

• No analytics or usage tracking in the app
• No advertising identifiers
• No personal information (name, email, or location)
• No device fingerprinting
• No crash reporting that includes personal data

Data stored on your device

Nemu stores the following data locally on your device:

• Your anime shelf (titles, statuses, ratings, episode progress)
• Cached anime metadata from AniList or Kitsu (titles, cover images, descriptions)
• App preferences and notification settings
• Watch history and streaks (which episodes you marked, and when)
• Search history

None of this is uploaded anywhere. Connecting AniList (below) only brings your AniList list into Nemu; nothing goes back.

AniList integration

Nemu uses the AniList GraphQL API to search for anime and fetch metadata. These are read-only requests that don't require authentication and don't transmit any of your personal data. To show airing times, Up next, and episode alerts, Nemu asks AniList about the specific shows on your shelf; each request names only the anime, and nothing that identifies you is sent.

Nemu asks the Kitsu API for episode titles and synopses when you open a show on your shelf. When AniList is unavailable, it also sends Kitsu the same kind of read-only requests (searches and title lookups) so you can keep finding and adding anime. Each request names only the anime being looked up; nothing that identifies you is sent.

If you choose to connect your AniList account (Pro feature), Nemu uses OAuth 2.0 to authenticate. Your AniList access token is stored locally on your device and is sent only to AniList. Nemu uses the connection to read your AniList anime list and import it; it never writes to your AniList account. You can disconnect at any time from the You tab.

In-app purchases

Nemu Pro is a one-time in-app purchase processed entirely through Apple's App Store. We use RevenueCat to manage purchase entitlements. RevenueCat receives a pseudonymous app user ID. No personal information is shared. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.

Notifications

Nemu can send local notifications when a show returns for a new season and, with Pro, a daily digest of new episodes. These are scheduled entirely on your device using airing schedule data from AniList. No push notification server is involved. You control which shows trigger notifications and can disable all notifications from app settings.

Third-party services

• AniList API: anime metadata and search (read-only, no personal data sent)
• Kitsu API: episode titles and synopses, plus backup anime metadata and search when AniList is down (read-only, no personal data sent)
• RevenueCat: in-app purchase management (pseudonymous ID only)
• Apple App Store: purchase processing

This website

This website (anchorpoint-software.com) uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page visits. It doesn't set cookies and isn't connected to the app, so nothing you do on this site is linked to your use of Nemu.

If you send feedback through our feedback form, we receive your message, the app and version you chose, and your email address only if you choose to give one. We use it only to read your feedback and, if you left an email, to reply. It is delivered to us by email through Resend, and we don't add you to any list or share it with anyone else.

Children's privacy

Nemu is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
