Privacy Policy

Overview

Briefday is built around a simple principle: your calendar is private. The app reads your calendar data on-device to generate your digest and never sends that data anywhere. No account, no backend, no cloud.

Calendar access

Briefday requests full access to your calendars using Apple's EventKit framework. It reads upcoming events (titles, times, durations, and calendars) from the calendars you include, to build your digest and find your free time. It also looks for birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays, including in your iOS Birthdays calendar and any holiday calendars you subscribe to, so it can show them in Occasions.

Briefday changes your calendar only when you ask it to: when you add an event (for example by tapping a free block), edit an event's title, time, or calendar, or delete an event after confirming. Changes go to the calendar you choose, and read-only calendars such as subscriptions and Birthdays are never changed. Events you add or edit sync through your own calendar accounts, the same as events you create in the Calendar app.

Calendar data is processed on your device and is never sent to us or to any server.

You can revoke calendar access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Calendars.

Data we don't collect

• No calendar events or event titles are sent to any server
• No analytics or usage tracking in the app
• No advertising identifiers
• No personal information (name, email, or location)
• No device fingerprinting
• No crash reporting that includes personal data

Data stored on your device

Briefday stores the following data locally on your device:

• App preferences (themes, work hours, detection thresholds, and which calendars to include)
• Notification preferences (whether the weekly digest is on, its day and time, and occasion reminders)
• A short summary of your latest digest, used by the Home Screen widget and the weekly notification: your busiest and lightest days, event counts, free-block count, and the name and date of your next occasion
• Your trial start date and Pro status, kept in the iOS Keychain so they survive a reinstall

None of this is sent to us or to any server.

Notifications

Briefday can send a weekly digest (Sunday at 9 AM unless you change it) and occasion reminders. These are scheduled entirely on your device as iOS local notifications, written from the summary of your last digest. No notification tokens or device identifiers are sent to any server.

In-app purchases

Briefday Pro is a one-time in-app purchase processed entirely through Apple's App Store. We use RevenueCat to manage purchase entitlements, and Briefday checks your purchase status with it when the app launches. RevenueCat receives a pseudonymous app user ID. No personal or calendar information is shared. See RevenueCat's privacy policy for details.

Third-party services

• RevenueCat: in-app purchase management (pseudonymous ID only)
• Apple App Store: purchase processing
• Apple EventKit: on-device calendar access only
• Holiday calendar feeds (optional, Pro): if you subscribe to one from Briefday's feed library, iOS adds the subscription and downloads it from its provider (currently thunderbird.net); Briefday sends nothing to the provider itself

Briefday uses no advertising SDKs, analytics platforms, or third-party tracking services.

This website

This website (anchorpoint-software.com) uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page visits. It doesn't set cookies and isn't connected to the app, so nothing you do on this site is linked to your use of Briefday.

If you send feedback through our feedback form, we receive your message, the app and version you chose, and your email address only if you choose to give one. We use it only to read your feedback and, if you left an email, to reply. It is delivered to us by email through Resend, and we don't add you to any list or share it with anyone else.

Children's privacy

Briefday is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
